The Liberia Local Governance Toolkit assesses the existence, effectiveness, and citizen access to key anti-corruption mechanisms at the county level in Liberia. Bong county faces significant challenges with judicial accountability, public access to information, and transparency in the sub-national budget and public procurement process. As in other Liberian counties, whistle blower protections and anti-corruption laws are virtually non-existent. Civil society, media, and internal auditing are bright spots.
