The Liberia Local Governance Toolkit assesses the existence, effectiveness, and citizen access to key anti-corruption mechanisms at the county level in Liberia. The Toolkit is an entry point for understanding the anti-corruption and good governance safeguards in place in each county in Liberia— what's working, what's not, and what can be improved.

The assessment of Sinoe county demonstrates strengths in the civil society and media sectors as well as the transparency and accountability of the procurement process. A lack of effective anti-corruption and whistle blowing laws, weak law enforcement, and poor regulations over the civil service are the most significant challenges the county faces.
